J-Tolb

A hyphenated, shorthand version of his government name J-Tolb is a rapper from Dayton, Ohio. Tolb has touted himself as a poet since elementary school, but he didn’t start writing raps until his sophomore year of high school.  J would define his style as laid back, and relaxed. For Tolb, the genre that he feels the most comfortable attaching to his work would be “jazz rap.” J cites Mick Jenkins, Earl Sweatshirt, MIKE, Isaiah Rashad, and Vince Staples as inspirations and dream collaborators. J-Tolb hopes to resonate with people who love rap music and appreciate it as an art form. Since dropping his first song in April of 2022, J-Tolb has released an album, a mixtape, two EP’s and a handful of singles. J-Tolb is looking forward to working with Brick City Records to deliver an EP that will display his artistic capabilities and embodies his passion for rap music as an art form. 

Riley James

Riley James grew up in the small town of Duncan, Ohio. They started learning the piano at 12 years old and guitar at 16 years old. when they started playing guitar, they found their songwriting passion and have been writing songs since. Riley possesses the goal of making music that encompasses and blends the writing and production styles of older and modern music. Their significant influences and inspirations are The Beatles, David Bowie, Kurt Cobain, Mac Demarco, and Donald Glover.

Jillian Kay

Jillian Kay is a 20-year-old pop/alternative singer/songwriter from Cincinnati, Ohio. She currently attends Ohio University as a sophomore majoring in Music Production and Recording Industry. Growing up, Jillian has been influenced by artists like Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Lana Del Rey, and Billie Eilish. She started songwriting at a young age, and in her sophomore year of high school she began taking songwriting lessons at 3rd Street Music Studio. She went on to release her first single and EP, and the following year she released three new singles. Jillian dives into her personal life experiences through her songwriting, which can be described as honest, raw, and empathetic. Jillian’s hope is that she her music can be a cinematic experience that also allows the audience to feel understood. 

Plant Clones

“Plants Clones is a five piece band out of Athens, Ohio, making music with a mix of Indie, Shoegaze and Bedroom Pop influence, among others. The band consists of Michaela Meerschaert (Vocals/Rhythm Guitar), Heath Benton (Lead Guitar), Chris Harmison (Keyboard/Saxophone), Jayden Rahmon (Bass), and Miles Macdonald (Drums). The five  members met as friends through Ohio University’s School of Music and began writing music together shortly after.
